SBC swap - c2514 error (separator valve for front left)
I just swapped out my SBC unit because of exceeding the number of actuation on my old one. I have Basic software to turn off SBC, etc. I installed the new SBC unit. I did a brake bleed with a Motive pressure bleeder. I now get a c2514 fault code which is for the separator valve for the front left wheel. My software was showing no pressure to that front left caliper after activation. Oddly enough when the system is deactivated I can pulsate the brakes a bunch and build up pressure to the front left. But, anytime the system is active I cannot stop the front left wheel from a free spin. So, it isn't applying any pressure. Did I get a bad unit from bosch (new) or what could be happening? Please share your thoughts

The system should be bled using STAR DAS. Make sure you have a battery charger connected during the procedure. This will resolve any issues.

My local indy claimed he couldn't bleed it with Star. He said he needed a $450 cable and a $250 adapter for his compressed air brake pressurizer. So, Star was out of the question. I get that star is the best way to do it. Starving Artist was right, there was air trapped. I just learned there are two bleed screws on the front. Alldatadiy did not show there being two so I didn't even look originally. I rebled the system this morning, cleared codes, and all the sbc codes are gone! But, somehow during all of this it appears I have a speed sensor on the right rear that went bad!

My understanding of the SBC system (and if I'm wrong, hopefully someone will gently enlighten me) is it can ONLY be properly bled using the STAR system. It is needed to activate all the solenoid valves and other gizmos used in the ABS fly-by-wire brake system. Anything less will leave air trapped in places that will really matter when you NEED your brakes.
