Airmatic issue
I've come across an issue which I am trying to determine if it is normal or not. I've raised the front several times to manually bleed the power steering system after a pump replacement. Each time I raise the front wheels off the ground and go into the car to turn the steering wheel back and forth, you can hear the airmatic turn on and vent the pressure in the front struts. When I lower the car, the front wheels are a good inch or so inside the top of the fender...car sits too low. I know the airmatic wakes up when you open the car door, but is it normal for the front suspension to sit so low after the lifting up the front end? WIS procedures warn not to pressurize the struts with the suspension collapsed. The only way I can prevent this is use DAS to inflate the struts again after I jack up the car with the wheels off the ground. I can not find any document that fully explains how this can be prevented or if it is normal. If anyone can shed some light on this, it would be a great help and very much appreciated!

Okay, thanks. That's good info. I didn't mention that I had just replaced the front struts. Maybe there is a calibration in DAS to teach the computer when the wheels are off the ground.
