Stock Factory Rev limiter REMOVAL W211 E63
Recently just purchased this car 2007 e63 40k I want to beef up the performance on this car down the road. I would like to remove the factory rev limiter in park and neutral it wont rev past 3k rpm anyone know why this is and how can i remove it. I have qtp cutouts out on the car and cant rev in past 3k rpm. i wanna hear the roar!!!!

The rev limiter is in place while in park or neutral because the engine has no load and it is not good for the engine to rev at high rpm without load. This isn't an MB thing - lots of cars have this feature to protect the engine from blowing up or causing undue damage to the cats. It's even more critical for an engine like the M156 where you really shouldn't push it until it reaches 80 degrees centigrade at a minimum (optimal is around 100 degrees centigrade).
If you want to hear it roar, go for a drive and do it safely - or go on a dyno. That's why they run big fans at the engine - to cool it down!

Obviously you're not a fan of the Harrison Ford scene from American Graffiti, and juvenile expressions of automotive horsepower in general.

Yabbut look what happened to him!
OP, What year is your Harley?
I'm kidding. Mostly. If you want to burn down your motor, it's your choice. If I want to berate you for making noise, that's mine

The MCT doesn't limit rev so you can redline in P or N but the old ones do not allow this. This was a huge surprise when I first got a Mercedes. It was annoying at first but I got used to it and see why it's there.

To remove the rev limiter you'll need star and will need to install software update from c63 507 to be able
to acces the ecm for the fuel delivery to not initiate the cut off
which is what I did on mine I was told by many it can't be done but it can just need to update software to the 507 edition

Sorry to dig up an old thread. When you say update software from c63 507, there are a few software updates like engine ecu, tcm (transmission), etc. I'm assuming the software update your referring to is the engine ecu, would that be correct? Obviously the transmission on a w211 e63 has 7g and is not an MCT, so you don't want to be updating that.
Can you confirm that is correct?
