I'm aware of the oil change but if anyone else knows exactly what else is included in the A Service for $300, that would be very helpful.

 

First it's $250 in Dublin Ohio. And not much...reading codes, checking for leaks, lubricating doors (I doubt it), topping fluids, mostly looking for anything else they can bill you for. But it does keep the VMI clean.

 

In general, the various alphabet services include the oil change, fluid top-ups and checking a bunch of stuff. If you need anything beyond an oil change you will pay extra for it.

 

I know this contradicts what I just said, but I was quoted about $300 from my local MB dealer for an oil change, engine air filters, and cabin air filters (all three). I scoffed at that price and did it all myself. I was surprised how much it costs even to do it yourself. I think the parts cost for doing all that comes out to around $200.

 

They do cabin air filter and engine filter in B service which is $400 range.
A service is only oil change.

 

You just need to do more shopping online. I like rockauto, but Amazon also has good prices. Air filters are in the $20 range for 2, cabin filters are also in the $20 range. Oil you can get on sale, 5 quarts of Mobil 1 0w40 is about $22.88 at Walmart and they have their $12 rebate which is good til the end of Oct 31st, so that's about $22 after rebate for 10 quarts of oil. Oil Filters are in the $8-$10 range. So more like around $70, even lower if you shop around.
