Introduction w211 E55 already an issue
Good intel in that one, lots more just with a little search bro, alternators usually do not die, it tends to be the $1xx.xx black plastic part with the electronic contacts on the back of the alternator right where the cables connect...sounds like yours needs to be replaced.
Eurocharged did a pretty baller write up on replacement with part numbers and such...
At this point it may be worth getting a SDS/DAS or just keep chucking parts sadly is what ur gonna do for the complete ownership of the car :-(
Just re-iterating SDS/DAS are great to have and money spent well

OP. If your alternator isn't charging after idling for over a minute of start up, check output directly at the back of the alternator. If voltage is good coming out there I'd move to the battery control module in the truck / spare tire well area.
