TCU Reset Question

So Im pretty sure my car was use to my old transmission settings when my torque converter burned up and I was driving with it for a few months. I have a new built SHR trans and a protorque TC but I need to reset the TCU. I saw some threads and videos about the sneeky reset. My question is will that be enough or if I have SDS, is there a way to just clear out all the old driving patterns in star and start from fresh?

Yes you can go into the Transmission menu and clear all adaptions.

I followed the link above to reset ECU but it didn't work for me. It still starts in 2nd gear in S mode. Insert key, tried at position 1, twice, didn't work. Tried at position 2, didn't work either.

The star reset is sure fire vs the sneaky reset. I did it for my friends CL55 with a new trans. His car was still driving like crap with the new built trans till I reseted it in SDS and it fixed the problem. I reseted mine but wont have a chance to drive it for another 2 days.

I've done the sneaky many times and it has always worked. Looking at the steps in your link, step 3 is backwards from what I do. I turn the key back to off, THEN release my foot from the pedal.

Make sure you do not open a door during the process. I also turn off my radio and a/c during the process. When I hear some actuators resetting themselves, I know the process is done.

I tried both ways without luck. First, I turned key off then released pedal, didnt work so I tried released first then turned key off, didnt work either.
