anyone drive this?the suspension sounds good and it's about as fast as the 01 e55. a recent mag in a comparision to a cad svt described it as an almost e55 at 20 thousand less and the caddy as an almost m5, at a similar difference. The local dealer doesn't have any , but the regular type s seems really small inside, infact, for it's size, so does the xjr.

The S-type receives it 2nd facelift for 2005. The S-Type was facelited for 2003 and now again. Huh!

What happened to the below bumper foglights?

2005 model:

2003-2004 model

The are selling on Ebay for mid $40k. I have seen them discounted $10k for new ones at dealer.

The local Jag/Benz dealer let me take one home for the night. Overall, it's a very nice sedan. Very smooth power delivery..none of that electro-magnetic clutch like the W211 E55. The suspension is a little on the soft side with quite a bit of understeer, but easily dialed out with the throttle.

I heard there are great deals on them right now. My dealer was willing to cut 7k off the MSRP...but at the end of the day, I decided on the E.

When this car first came out, I went to tha jag dealer before they really much info. When they finally came out, they couldnt get rid of them, and I had the dealer call several times when I wasnt home before giving up. What turned me off was that this car cost 65k and it had GS400 performance, with horrible brakes even though they were "brembo". So let me get this straight...the car cant go fast, it cant brake in a hurry, it cant corner..what DOES it do? no thanks.

Great quote, ThemisN.
I looked at them (VERY briefly) when they first came out.
Simply put, the wannabe of the supersedan class.
Doesn't really excel at anything.
Horrific depreciation.
No thanks.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland
They look nice from the front but to be honest not that appealing. Seems like more of a womans car. Besides they are too cramped and the J Gate shifter is sorta weird.

I used to own one (2003 S-Type R ) and loved it. Use to spend more fuel in that S-Type R than my E55 though. But overall very nice car.
