I had always assumed the w208 would be a tad bit lighter than the w202, but it's somehow heavier?
anyway excellent work. i love seeing this m113k swaps into older cars. I'd love to transplant one into my C43. I have the 5.4l right now, but it just made me hungrier for even more power.

I have a engine/trans/harness/ecu ready for a w208 swap if anyone wants one
I upgraded the whole fuel system. Stock spark setup. In terms of controlling it, factory E55 ecu tuned by Jerry at Eurocharged. Car has been 9.6@146mph with all the amenities (ac, power steering, radio, etc)

I'm not sure if you're referring to the weight of my W208. It's obviously not stock. Adding supercharger, bigger diff, 1500hp axles, intercooler trunk etc all adds weight

i'm very curious as to how I could get the m113k to work in my car. i'm glad people like you are trying to tap into getting the newer powertrain to work in the older cars. do you have a build thread anywhere I can study? I'm serious about putting a 55k motor into my w202 someday. I've seen it done in a couple Arab youtube videos but zero information as to how they did it.

I'm putting a 430 V8 in my '99 SLK and working on running it with Megasquirt as i wasn't able to adapt all the E430 harness and components, therefore the immobilizer stopped me dead in my tracks.
that's why I'm always curious how other people are doing it. I know of a guy who put a 6.0 V12 in his R107, and he pretty much used the entire harness from his donor car.

I've spent a good amount of time over there. the Crossfire works a lot better than my "older" SLK because they share a lot of the same electrical components as the E500's and V8 AMG cars. I think a manual would be easier, with a bit of fab work, because they do not typically need the ECU and TCU to run it.
