New 2004 E55 AMG Owner needs advice

Hello to all
New long time enthused owner here I just drove home 400 miles total after buying the car with a Rebuilt/Salvage Title on Ebay auction ( 232230685564 ) Only had 99000 miles on it I paid $8000 , everything looks great, drives straight and can not find evidence of need to salvage.
I have looked over everything including looking over car with a paint micrometer only thing different is the drivers fender paint and EVERYTHING inside/outside works electrically.
The car has had 2 owners and was originally totaled in Wisconsin Summer of 2011 with 48,000 miles , so I'm thinking for of water/ flood damage myself I also just had the car on a lift and it looks brand new underneath no rust visible to the eyes pulled rugs back not a spot nor smell .

Here are a few of my questions:
1. Can this type car be insurance totaled from an electrical problem?

2. Are there any sweet spots I should look Over to possibly find flood damage?

3. Does anyone know a good mechanic for these type cars in the Maryland/Baltimore area?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks

"1. Can this type car be insurance totaled from an electrical problem?"
Yes. And a bad link in the CANBUS or in a module can be a PITA to resolve.

"2. Are there any sweet spots I should look Over to possibly find flood
damage?"
Remove door sills and lift carpet on passenger front floorboard. Inspect in there. SAS module, SAM, front pre-fuse box are located there amongst other stuff.

"3. Does anyone know a good mechanic for these type cars in the Maryland/Baltimore area?"
Recommend you locate/obtain a diagnostic system yourself; these puppies can be maintenance intensive and you'll save quite a bit of money locating and resolving issues yourself; leave the large issues to the mechanic.

If this is your first E55, start researching. Fuel pumps/filter/relay, airmatic, supercharger clutch/pulley, belts/pulleys, suspension issues, etc.

PM me your email address.

Not sure where exactly u r but chk out Justin @ Mercedes Specialists in Westminster. He recently did some work for me & I was very impressed and pleased. I researched shops in the area for about a month. Good luck.
