E55 Cooling Question

Hey guys, I know how everyone is with not using the search function but I can assure you I've tried lmao! So I just recently got a new E55 as my daily driver, 70k miles, all stock. I already had some cooling issues after a few back to back runs so I ordered a new Bosch pump. Now I am thinking of doing an 83mm clutched pulley and tune in the near future. I see some guys run this setup on stock cooling (plus a new pump), and some go for an upgraded heat exchanger. Well I saw a thread from a few years back if I remember correctly where some members were talking about keeping all the stock cooling and adding a heating core somewhere along the line? I couldn't find much else on the topic so has anyone done this or know of people who have done it? I'm just curious to see if it works as a cheaper alternative to a new heat exchanger and where/how you would add it to the cooling system? Thanks in advance, these threads have been a huge help!

There was a member running 2 heater cores Infront of radiator. He moved on to a ctsv. He was running a fixed 77 and said he had no heatsoak. I was going to go that way with my 83 mm but I'm doing the vrp aux heat exchanger. Simple to install

Thanks for the reply. So I assume installing that secondary heat exchanger vs a heater core (or 2) would pretty much be the same theory? How would you go about running the cooling lines to add something like this into the loop?

I should add I also have a stock heat exchanger off of my old 2004 Mustang Cobra. Would I be able to work this in somewhere or is it too big to fit anywhere else? I think its honestly probably very similar in size to the stock E55 H/E

I custom made my inter cooler setup. I have an ebay front stock location two pass unit and in the left corner behind the fog light{no more fog lights} I bought a Mini Cooper aluminum radiator and made it into a two pass. All tucked away and looks real clean. I run two pumps, one pushes one pulls. The inter cooler under the supercharger I cut open/off the tanks and made it into a single pass setup with two inlets and two outlets. Yesterday it was 60* out side and temps did not go past 80* with a very hard 3rd to 4th gear pull. Granted its only 60* but it looks to be real good for the summer.

Interesting Gary. Do you have a diagram and or pic of the intercooler?

Thanks for the response guys. I may try to fit that extra h/e somewhere or use a heater core or two and put them after the stock h/e in the cooling loop. Now how do you guys suggest going about mounting these? Also, I'm assuming you have to add more fluid to the system with the increased capacity? Thanks again for the help.

Give me a couple days and I will try and get them for you. I would like to have it on the lift and pull the bottom panel off to get some good shots if I can.
