Sigh...flat right front tire yesterday evening. Took it to a tire shop this morning and the rim has a large crack on the inside wall. I have hazy memory of a small pothole (it wasn't that big) pulling out of a gas station the day before yesterday. If that didn't break it, I don't know what did.

That's one rear and one front rim on this car. All inside rim wall cracks. And to think I was wondering if I was doing the right thing buying a complete set of E55 rims last year as spares. At least I was able to just go up in my attic and bring down a spare rim after I returned home....

You are a lucky man thinking ahead! My dad cracked one of his driver's front a few months ago... good on ya for grabbing up a full set!

Add me to the list. Cracked my front driver's side rim, brabus 19's. Sting a little more when they said they cant repair it! So my search is on for a replacement brabus 19 inch rim.

I have the chronic cracking cls55 rims. They look great but man these things are a pita to keep on the car.

This era of Amg rims are pretty much junk in my opinion. Have cracked multiple stock 18 inch AMG wheels and stock 19 inch AMG wheels. The worst part is that if you don't realize it and start driving you just bought a $400 tire on top of having the wheel welded. It's hard for any of us to want to buy a $6k set of forged wheels for a car that realistically is only worth $10-15k. Maybe $20k for a low mint example.

I'm struggling with mine. Whoever had this car before me beat the fk out of it and those poor wheels... luckily there's a good repair shop in Tampa called Glenns, but my car has been sitting on one spare for the past 3 weeks juggling each wheel to get em all straighened out.
