Arnott rear air shocks
Why are they supposed to be replaced in pairs? Do they handle air levels differently than the Bilsteins or something?

They are different in their valving and function. The most obvious different is they lack the external reservoirs . The rear of the e55 only has one height sensor, so it opens and closes the valves on both shocks at the same time. they must contain the same amount of air and fill/deflate at the same rate

If my car has been sitting for a day or two, it will sit low. Not quite a low rider! This is normal, when I start the car up, the suspension will raise to it's correct ride height. So you may not have a air spring issue, as you first thought.
