Description:
Selling my 2005 E55 AMG With Currently 138,565 Miles. Ive owned it for 2 years and can say it has been more fair to me than my previous car a 2009 e550. I have done alot of work to the car spark plugs, air filters, lots of preventitive maintnence, battery, alternator, motor mounts, ect. Recently purchased a new vehicle so i could use the money but im not gonna take any dumb offers. The cars interior is really clean i have alot of baby stuff in the car since we still are using it but i can promise the leather is in amazing condition.
----------------------------------------
I am looking for an 05/06 Flint Grey. IDK if this mileage is too high for a fun weekend car that I want to pulley/LT/tune

Ask the seller to bring it somewhere for a PPI and get the full story before driving down - BenzWorks in Huntington Beach should be relatively close to the seller and they're great.

'99 and '05 E55 AMG
I would regard that as a fair price and seriously consider snapping it up. The work done on it is expected (from my experience) and reduces the buyer's cost to bring it up to par by several thousand dollars.
If the body and interior are good, I would buy it if I did not already own one. "Bone stock" is a plus in my opinion. One does not have to puzzle out what the previous owner did to the car.

Get a PPI and go from there if you're serious about the car. Price seems good and I wouldn't worry about the mileage too much.
I would request a lot more pics though since you can't easily go check it out. Garage pics just don't do it for me and there could be body **** that may show up that you'll miss in those pics they have.

If the car is sound, this is good price. When I was shopping, most cars of this mileage and options were asking 12-14k. I was interested around 11-12k.
IIRC, another member picked up a LA car for about the same price, cleaned her up, and did a road rally weeks later.
Something like this and Eurocharged's E85 soon to be released setup would the most bang for the buck that I know of.

Overwhelming consensus: PPI and pursue. Thanks all!

I know Chris at Star motor werks does a good job, he's down in costa mesa. Definitely get a PPI though, these cars can get expensive fast.

I don't like the wheels (were those stock in 2005?), and the fact that the owner will not spend 5 seconds to clean up the inside before taking pics.
I see the inside linings of his door pockets are loose... just like mine.
These cars are cheap to buy because they are expensive to own. Be ready. It's like having a car payment even though you paid cash.

I have owned my 06 E55 for more than 8 years and have only spent $3K in repair. Not including the maintenance like tires, brakes, oil and fluid changes. I have spent more money in modding my car than repair it. I have spent more money fixing my wife Honda mini-van ! I also have a CLS55 for 2 years and so far only oil changes... W211 and W219 are reliable as long you don't buy a abused one.

The E63 has some insanely expensive brakes. You can do the '55 for around $550 in parts.

FCP Euro has E63 front rotor/pad kits for $1200. Not bad considering they have a lifetime replacement. Yeah, if you go to a dealer or shop a set of brakes will set you back $2500.

I finally get a car I am legitimately interested in, and the seller is HORRIBLE at emailing and texting back.
Beginning to this he either doesn't really want to sell it, or it's not for sale anymore.
......The search continues

Those look like CLS wheels. Good luck, hope you make contact with the guy.
On a side note...Why, oh why would you not take proper pictures of a car you're trying to sell?

The fact that the seller would not clean the junk out of his car before posting pictures shows you how much effort he's willing to make on this deal.

He replied to my email answering questions he already answered from the previous email (?) and then texted as well saying how busy he has been and he'll get me pictures in a few minutes.
That was 4 days ago.
I don't understand the game this guy is playing....
