2003 Mercedes Benz E500

2003 Mercedes E500 Central Gateway and ECU reprogramming

I put new Central Gateway for 2003 E500, the next day in the morning the engine didn't start at all, do I need to reprogram to ECU?

Assuming the part is new, not new to the car, but new---has to be coded with factory software to he car!
