What does `In Production' mean
Does it mean they are building it this month? When should I expect ot get it?
The question that you need to ask your salesrep is what "decade" in May is the car scheduled to be produced. This will give you a pretty good indication on delivery, based on the 45 day rule. From my experience on ordering cars for clients, the rule is pretty reliable and it goes like this: MB breaks the month in to 3, ten day build cycles called "decades". Now, if you are is scheduled for the 1st decade of May, then delivery will be around mid to late June. If built in the 2nd decade of May, then delivery will be late June to early July. Finally, if built in the 3rd decaded of May, then expect delivery to be in early to mid July. This is how I explain to my clients the delivery process. It has always been very predictable for me, but since you are in Chicago, then the rule may be a little different.
But the `in production' threw both her and me. If `in production' meant `build,' they might have brought the schedule forward. On hte other hand, in production might mean something else.
I was wondering...
