ESP maufuction?

I never floor my car out of fear of something breaking. Well I floored it.. After showing off I had 0 power, no downshifting. Drove but not anywhere fast. ESP maufuction came up. Anyone ever have this problem or know what it is? 2003 E55 AMG. It's not on now that I turned off then back on.

Then why would you buy an AMG in the first place?

Is this the first time this has happened? Could have just been a computer glitch. These cars also get lazy when you baby them all the time.

A Merc
It's not a glitch

Something triggered the limp mode

Could be anything from the tb blade touching the intake ring, speed sensor etc

Putting the car on the star diagnostic will guide you to where your problem is

Last time I floored it my a.c. pulley snapped off and destroyed every belt. That was a 2,800 fix with a new power steering pump and a.c. compressor

Now it won't even let me turn off ESP. What's MB charge to hook it up to star?

At least an hour of diagnostic. There are aftermarket scanners that will scan for MB specific codes. They're in the $50-$100 range.

seems like the transmission slipped and got into limp mode.

Something isn't right. When I hit the gas it jerks then the supercharger gets a little louder but no power. It's out of limp mode and not throwing codes but just got home and popped the hood. I pushed on the supercharger pulley, not the clutch with the belt.. the black pulley and it rotated half a turn clock wise and clicked. Won't move any farther. It's not spinning on idle either..

Jeffsmith09, if you owned a proper diagnostic system you would have answered most of your questions by now. This is very difficult to diagnose via internet. Connecting to a DAS/STAR/Xentry would have most answers to all failed systems within 10 minutes.

Your car is one large distributed digital control system transported via a V-8 engine. ECU, Central Gateway, front SAM, rear SAM, passenger-side SAM, TCU, etc, etc, ad nauseum. Eight control modules on the CAN C, twenty three control modules on the CAN B, four modules that share CAN C and B. This doesn't even begin to count the sensors, valves, and solenoids connected to those modules.

Put it on a diagnostic system, read out the codes, post them here, and then we can help you. Until then, it's our conjecture, your money.
