0-180 MPH IAT LOG

1 Attachment(s)
Ran in a 1 mile LSR event yesterday.
This log is with Eurocharged software. Car ran 179.7 mph on this run. Ambient was 68-70 degrees. Have logged many 1/4 mile runs where IAT'S go up the entire run. Never logged a 1 mile run, Temps are higher at peak rpm, each time the car shifts temps they come down slightly. I was very surprised to see this. I expected they would continue higher as speeds increased. Under 120 F. at the end of the 1 mile run which took approx. 30 seconds

Wow thats pretty good. Are you running with ice tank only or tank and front cooler as well?
My 1/2 mile was at 120* every run and it was 80* outside.I am going to try the ice tank alone next time. Really want to go to your event as well but will see !!

That was going through the heat exchanger as well. I could not believe the IAT's were dropping on the 3-4 shift and again on the 4-5 shift as RPM came down. I am now wondering about just a little smaller supercharger pulley ?

Hell I just wish there was a mile run event within a friggin time zone from here...

It's interesting that in 5th gear the IATs are actually dropping. I guess that's when the airflow over the H/X gets high enough to take more heat out than the I/C is putting in.

Very nice graph and great way to visualize. Gotta be an engineer.

Thanks for the graph Joe.
It actually drops twice. Once just after the 3-4 shift then continues up and again drops after the 4-5 shift.

I guess a combination of air flow and the blower speed dropping after the shifts.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing. I wish I had the opportunity to WOT to 5th!

Whoa... these cars can do 180????

MACEDON 07-20-2017 04:12 PM

How do you have your logging set up? The EC cable to a laptop/tablet?

Yes EC cable to a laptop.

Great log. Very interesting that the IAT climbed so little, even through the 3rd and 4th gears in general.

Oh yea !! Think about it....180 mph of air flowing through the cooler !!!
Good stuff for sure at that speed !!!!

Sweet. So if you were in 87 degree ambient.....that would be @ 138+ degrees? I guess that's impressive. Right?

What's your boost? Like @15 psi? Can't really tell with your graph. High boost creates high heat, they say.

Keep it coming, brother. More M113K's needs to be in the mile events!
