Carbon box opening too small? no problems
Reason being, RENNtech starts with a stock 74mm snout (113 140 04 12), then weld it and build it up to be able to take the 82mm,
whereas other makers just add ears to the stock 80mm snout (113 140 09 12) then port it.
The difference is the 82mm throttle end up in different height, relevant to the CF box mouth...
What do I do??? Dremel comes to the rescue, a 74mm RENNtech box can be easily ported out to fit around 82mm TB
But what do we do with leaks?
That's when I put my creative hat on, and hit eBay looking for 4" heat shrink tube.
Cut a properly sized ring, place it around the assembly, then hit it with heat gun, after everything is assembled...
The result is probably not only gas leak proof, but probably liquid leak free!
If the neck gets dirty with grease and slime (oil blow by is magnet for that kind of crap), if it makes it inside the engine, it will easily score cylinder walls and Lower pressure, if not worse...
