2006 E55 AMG
Thinking of getting back into an E?!
Hey guys,
So I sold my 90k mile E55 about 1.5 years ago due to mileage adding up, and trying to get the most money I could out of it before it continued it's depreciation.
Well here I am with the itch to get back into an AMG..
The choice is between an '06 E55 or an 05/06 CL65. Both would be similar mileage (50-60k), fully optioned cars with documentation of work/maintenance that I would be patient on pulling the trigger on.
I am aware of airmatic failure/gas tank recall as I experienced both with my '06 E, as well as ABC failure on 65 models
Curious if anyone knows price comparisons on the maintenance of the above mentioned suspension parts.
Just looking for opinions, interested in what you have to say.
Appreciate it in advance!

Everything is more expensive in the CL. Suspension especially can be very expensive. Even just spark plugs and wires. I would get the m113k car unless you have deep pockets, I totally would get a cl65 if I thought I could afford it.

I'd go with the E.
Even with my hook up at an indy shop (all side work, no labor charge, parts at wholesale) I wouldn't touch one of the 65 cars.

Thanks for the responses guys, that is what I figured I would hear.
Looks like I'll be on the look out for a ~60k and below mile, non-black 05/06 E55.
So I am sure that search will be pleasant...
I'll probably post a "looking-for" ad in the classifieds here shortly.
