Lots of white smoke from exhaust after running without coolant cap.
Hi, Can't believe I forgot to put the coolant cap back on and drove the car for around 50 Kms when suddenly engine started to loose power. I stopped the car and realised my stupid mistake. The coolant was almost completely gone. I switched off the engine immediately (the temperature gauge at that time was still in the middle/normal level). I called my friend to come with the coolant. Topped up the coolant after almost 1 hr. Started the engine and it was idling smoothly but huge clouds of white smoke started to come out of the exhausts. I left it to idle for around 10-15 mins. Checked the temperature gauge and it was still normal also no change in the coolant level. I decided not to take any risk and called recovery to take it to the garage. Garage is only going to open after the weekend. Just want to know if I haven't blown out the gaskets or is it something else as the engine was idling fine and the temperature remained normal.
