Anyone with the arnott air to coil conversion ....
So I got under the hood to do some clean up and check a few small things as I always do and noticed that the stud on the passenger side front shock, the one closest to the fender was sheered off ..... I dont know what caused this or why. I know it was there before the car went to mercedes of farmington to have the trans done but regardless.
So I removed it thinking Id drill out the stud since they are removable and replace it and be done. Well its hardened steel and my drill bits were of no use I mean it hardly made a scratch so since the system was new I called Oriellys and talked to the manager who is a friend and told him of the situation and he said let me see if they have one in SLC. As luck would ahve it they did and he said Id have to pay for it ... go pick it up and come back and he would warrantee it and refund me my money ... ok. I get it back to the store since I had already taken the old shock off and we open the box and the fronts are slightly different than the new ones

The part numbers are the same on the shock, same part number on the springs, exact same length, bolt up the exact same way, the shock tubes are slightly bigger on the new one versus the old. So he gave me both the fronts and said I could change both out to have matching ones. I did install the new one on my passanger side and took it for a ride comparing it to the old one still on the drivers side. The new one seems to be a better match to the car not nearly as rough riding and seemed more solid over bumps and round corners. So just installed the other and took side by side and gunna ask Arnott whats up, I checked and double checked its the correct system for my amg and the same one I got last time. Wonder if its an update or something. So to those that have done the arnott system which front shocks do you have?? Does anyone have any insight into this??
I appreciate you posting this. I did mine last Summer and went with Arnott. It will be something for me to dig into this weekend.
