Question for those with a tan interior, especially if you have Designo wood!

Hey guys,

New E63 owner here (more to come on that). My car has been absolutely babied by the original (past) owner, all dealer services and recommendations performed.

I noticed two things that make me think the center console has been replaced, and I'd like your opinion:

1. The carpet on the side of my center console does not match the carpet of the flooring. It is lighter and thinner. Not sure if that's normal?

2. The wood grain on my cupholder cover is markedly different (darker) than the rest of my wood trim. I'm not sure if that is because the car has the Designo wood and the cupholders didn't come with that. No other signs that it would have been replaced. But it sure looks odd!!

Also when I search on ECS, the only wood colors I can find are anthracite and burred walnut. Why does mine look different?

Thanks,
Cyrus

I have a black interior on mine. The carpet on the console is different than the rest of the carpet. My wood colors are slightly different, but not as drastic as yours.

It looks like the wood in mine would be a great match for the wood in yours. No, I won't swap.

Thanks for the info! Maybe my dash wood is just especially light and doesn't match the cupholder cover. Looks funny but definitely not worth me changing.

the shifter console wood plate is different than the rest.
Perhaps it was replaced. You can watch ebay and find a better matching console, probably under $100. Just watch over time and you'll find a matching one.

The gear knob leather must have worn off, quite common, so he must have changed the whole knob, gaiter and panel.
eBay has lots of those
