Long story short, I'm going to be back in an E55 this week... A buddy had bought it about a year ago with the intention to put it back together, but it sat. I kicked him an offer for fun, and he bit.

I'll post more pictures this week when I go pick it up. Mechanically it's solid, but needs some paint/bodywork/panels (needs two fenders, two doors, and a front bumper). The frame checked out straight, so it's (luckily) all cosmetic.
So my question, what should I do with it? Fix it on the cheap and add power or part it? (anyone got an inexpensive painter in California?) I think I'm going to be into this thing ~$3k when the dust settles and it's in my name, so I don't wanna drop a whole bunch of $$ on paint.
My girlfriend suggested to swap the bent parts for straight parts of mixed colors (like a VW Harlequin), add power (lots of power)/suspension parts, and turn it into a track car... Which I'm not totally opposed to!
