Drag wheels

Hello all. Sorry if this is in the wrong section I'm a newbie 🙂. My questions is I have a e55 amg with a decent amount of mods. Street tires obviously do not hook and I have tried nitto nt-05 tires and still not enough. I want to either go to a drag radial or a full slick. What do you guys recommend. And what wheels? I know a lot of people recommend the clk wheels but I can't seem to find them and u need spacers. But I found a cheap set of stock e55 wheels that are 18inch. Would thoes work? Any opinions you guys can give would be great. I just wanna know if I should go slick or radial. Street use don't matter because I want a set of wheels that these tires will go on for track only. Thanks everyone!!!

Hey don't buy those from that guy in the other thread if he has them. You can put the same set up together for less money with brand new tires. I just finished doing it and have mine sitting in my garage.
I haven't used them yet but these rims are super light and what every one recommends even though the tire set up isn't super wide.

Get two of these:http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-TAKE-OFF-1...72.m2749.l2649
They are used but they were in GREAT shape. The guy even polished them before he sent them to me.

Get this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-PC-HUB-CEN...72.m2749.l2649

And there you have it

PS: You will have to drill out the bolt holes on the rims, but they are 13lbs and every one on the forum swears by that set up.

Just look the same tires up they will be all over for the same price.

I would try to contact that seller for the rims though. It says he had 4 left when it expired, and the stores phone number is in the post. I offered $90 each shipped and he took it, so maybe you can call and get them for that price.Otherwise the part number for the correct rims are: A2084010002 and the only other listings are about twice as expensive.

Do not buy any different 16" rims. These ones are perfectly shaped and thin enough to clear our rear calipers with the spacer. Other 16" rims(including Mercedes) will most likely not.

Oh that I can not say, they are a little taller than my 285/30-19 street tires, so I'm not sure if they'd rub on a lowered car or not. Hopefully some one else can chime in for that.

I'm not sure how they would want you to pay if you made the purchase over the phone, if you'd need to make an account or not. You'll have to talk to them.

It's a place called OEM Rims out of california. Phone number is 714-254-0490

C.Hawkins has a set for sale, already mounted. See this thread for his contact info:

https://mbworld.org/forums/engine-pe...arts-sale.html

He does not have the wheels listed there, but I noticed on his Facebook post that he's also selling his drag setup.

I just found out, when you add the 15mm spacer you need to get 15mm longer wheel bolts as well. Makes sense I jut never thought about it until I actual fit the set up on the car today and noticed only a couple threads were grabbing.

Here is what I got:
