MB already has a hard enough time trying to justify to CL55 & S55 owners why their cars are so much more expensive when they basically have the same engine as a car that cost 30K less.
The 65 engine will be reserved for the high dollar cars.

I believe it will be called E63. The next wave of AMG V8 engines will be naturally aspirated producing 500hp and 435lb/ft of torque. Hopefully a LSD will be added to get the power down more efficiently, and AMG tweaks the handling/steering feedback to give a more sporty feel.

no plans through the end of the body style..
Not in the works or even ready in theory. They are going to build a CLS65 however and that is very close to the E chassis (it is the e chassis lol). So it will be a CLS55 then the CLS63 Then the CLS65...now thats a bunch of CLS AMG's in the works!

I HAVE HERD FROM SEVERAL DIFFERENT SALESMAN AND MANAGERS FROM ~~ MERCEDES OF MANHATTEN, RAY CATENA EDISON NEW JERSEY, AND ALSO DAVID MICHAEL MERCEDES FREE HOLD NJ. THAT THERE WILL BE A LIMITED PRODUCTION E65 WHICH WILL BE A 6.5 LITRE TWIN TURBO, BRACING A 600+ HP 600+ FT LBS OF TQ. IT WILL BE IN THE PRICE RANGE OF AROUND 120K AND WILL KNOW MORE INFOR ON IT IN ABOUT 18 MONTHS

E65 TradeMark Registration
Take a look at the Trade Mark registrations that Daimler filed for on April 29th (in the US). Also note that the CLS65 has been filed seperately (without a 55 version). I'm guessing a 2006 intro of the "65" AMG engines.
