05 E55 Sirius receiver part #?

My dealer is giving me way too much trouble finding the correct sirius receiver part number. My car does not have sirius but is prewired. Can someone please help me with the correct receiver part number?

All the parts documentation is for what was included with a build, however if you post he VIN I will look to see if there are any parts associated with an aftermarket application---------or find an owner with the option and post that VIN!

the sirius module....

the one i got and i have extras has part number: A 2118703389. this is the part number for the sirius sat module. now keep in mind although you are prewired, you will need to get some additional fiber optic cable to "wire" this module into the loop of your existing system to operate properly. i don't have any more fiber optic left over but thats the most difficult part of installation. with the fiber optic cable and fiber to fiber connectors, you can easily hook up the sirius yourself!!! good luck and let me know if you have any questions/issues. where are you located btw?? take care.

Where do u need to add additional cable? I was going to put the Sirius in-line after the Bluetooth box. The output of Bluetooth to input of sirius. Then output of sirius to the other yellow connector leaving the rear of trunk.

You need the fiber optic in and fiber optic out for the Sirius module and the fiber optic connectors. You may have the in but not the out so you will be short one finer optic line.

It’s tricky...

Source a connector, I will see if I have one they have arrows on them coming in and going out, and there is a blue “pin” inside the connector that you will take apart to line it all up. When I did my install, the line coming into the nav unit I took that line out and placed it into going in to Sirius, then the line you need to get will be the line coming out of the Sirius unit going back to the nav unit where you removed the original line from.

My connector has the input and output fiber optic cable already.

My car has the voice control and the Bluetooth. I already have the sirius output and input fiber optic. I am removing the output from the Bluetooth and connecting to input of sirius. Then the output of sirius will go to the output connector from the old Bluetooth connection. It already has two splitters in-line. Still not understanding why I need addition fiber cable.

Not sure if this will help or not, but I used then when I installed OEM blue tooth in my 06 C230. It sounds like the fiber optic loop / ring requirement is similar. Mine was "pre-wired" and had all the required "in and out" wires. I have the entire PDF file, but I don't know how to upload it...

okay! So the order matters too? I have mine after "CP" in your diagram. So I need to put it between the VC and CP?

Maybe my install was different??

My 04 E55 was also prewired and actually had the power connector for Sirius but did not have module. But regardless, whenever you add a component you will break the loop to add Sirius and to reconnect the loop you will need at least one fiber line going from new addition back to where you broke the loop to make it complete again. I suppose if you were to completely remove a unit and the Sirius is replacing the unit, you would not need any lines then I imagine as long as connectors were same and the fiber optic loop is complete again. It doesn’t matter where you break the loop whether it’s before nav or voice or wherever, just make sure you close the loop that’s most important!!! Often times Sirius is placed after the headunit and before the nav. In between there. Take a snapshot of what you mean about your Bluetooth connections and your prewired Sirius. That will help me see what exactly you talking about and what you have!

I shouldn't need any extra. I'm pulling the connector out of the voice control box. I'll be removing the output fiber cable from its connector. I'll use the input cable from the sirius box and insert it into the output side of the voice control box plastic male connector then reconnect that connection into the voice control box. The output fiber cable of the sirius box already has the double female end connector attached. lll connect the removed output fiber cable from the voice control box and insert it into the other female end to the sirius output fiber cable connector. That fiber cable is already going to the input of the Bluetooth box.

sounds great!!

seems like you will be set!! if the headunit cuts out after about 5 to 10 seconds from turning on then you will know there is an "open" loop somewhere and that will be the tell tale sign that somethings not right, otherwise you should see when you hit the sat button on the headunit the preview channel should be playing with the 1-800 to call and sign up your "new" sirius sat module!!! hope it all works out man and you would have saved yourself at least $1200 if not more!!!! get it going man!!

just a bit of history..... long story short

when i got my car, there was a HUGE after market stereo with amps/boom box in the trunk couldn't get to the battery, 10 tv screens even in the front covering the ac vents (LOL??) and on and on.... you can't imagine!! so with all this work, i started to dismantle all this and get back to a civilized E55. after everything removed and brought back to oem standards, there was a fiber optic cutout i just could not source.... i did everything from isolating each component to taking out everything except the headunit (cannot remove the headunit, that has to be there) and long story short, never found out where my "short" or cutout was with the fiber optic that would not allow the system to turn on..... so i got on ebay and found an entire entertainment wiring harness for $100!! bought it and rewired my own fiber optic lines bypassing the car's original fiber lines and running my newly bought lines throughout the car connecting the nav, headunit, agw, added sirius sat, cd player/changer and you would not know anything was different with the car. my learning curve increased tremendously after going thru and performing this whole process with my car. but it works and sounds great with jl amp/sub off factory headunit controls. so good luck man with your adventure, take your time and expect a hiccup along the way, but retrace and retrack your steps and you will be just fine man!!!! take care!

I hate when people hack up their factory setups with the crazy subwoofer boxes and lcd video screens everywhere. I recently passed on an S55 because it had too many alterations with big ugly 22" wheels.

I agree!!

the greatest problem was they had replaced the alternator with a USA made over 300 amp alternator to handle everything??? I see why the owner sold the car because the red warning stayed on all the time due to voltage regulator was not reading things correctly! I have to say got a great deal and it only had 13k miles when I got it. Only have 26k miles now. But that was the reason why I pulled the trigger. I saw the potential thru all the issues I had to fix. Replaced the alternator with an oem one and the car was back!!! Seats worked, ac never went into conserving mode, red message went away, every electrical problem I thought I had was fixed by replacing the alternator!!! I say all this to say: whatever you do, keep that damn alternator the same!!! Do not upgrade to something bigger or perceived to be better, just keep oem one and work around that!!! Anyway, I agree: somethings are best left they way it came from the factory!!
