2003 E55 steering rack leaking fluid
hey all, so apparently my steering rack is leaking fluid as last few times it is needing to be topped up with fluid otherwise it makes horrible noises when sharply turning at low speeds. Is this something where i need the whole steering rack replaced or only certain parts/seals of the rack?
also can i get your opinions on where i could buy a steering rack? perhaps a used one? what is the model of steering rack that i should be looking for on a E55 AMG?

im not sure but mechanic said i had to get a new steering rack and that this type of thing is normal, they said it can cost a few thousand bucks, is there any used ones i could find anywhere? anyone know what the part number is for the 2003 e55?

Not sure why you need part number and I hope you mean rebuilt when you say used. Seems to range from $400 for a rebuilt one to $2000 for a new one. Of course the labor is going to be at least a few hours I would think. I would go for rebuild personally with those prices. I like pelican parts and fcpeuro,
