ROW air boxes?

I am the proud new owner of a 2008 E63 with the P30 package and I am ready to start modding I have already purchased the Eurocharged tune and now I am looking for the ROW air boxes. I looked the part number up on MBonlineparts and says it won't fit my car and it has CLK63 and CLK63 BS listed as the correct fitment. They are much cheaper than what I have seen elsewhere, are these the correct parts?

I pulled the charcoal filters and that's good enough for me. Any gains for what they cost aren't worth it IMO.

I looked into getting them elsewhere as well.

I agree, take out the charcoal, cut out the cross plastic and get the UPD intake spacer kit as it will come with filters.

This doesn't address the flattened air horn issue in the stock air box which reduces the velocity stack effect. The ROW air box has a completely rounded air horn and is a big contributor to the gains you see with the ROW air box. Now what if you do both ROW and UPD spacer kit??

trust me, I'm fully aware of what the difference is in the ROW vs US air box. being realistic what will it get you 1whp? LOL. its so minimal and you'll never feel it. put the $300 towards headers or anything else performance related, I see you went the right direction already with the EC tune. If you have any questions feel free to reach out.

just modify your factory airboxes like most of us do.

EDIT:
don't modify factory boxes...you'll screw up your trims and drive-ability. i learned the hard way.

not sure about E55...but this was in reference to M156 airboxes. for the M113k people buy or put together power pipes i think its called? you can buy sheet metal to build a grill to intake wind funnel/deflector.

I just put ROW airbox in my AMG a few days ago and I could feel the difference right away.
I don't think there is any realistic power gain (could be 0 gain for all I care) but the engine seems to respond better/easier (less labored).
Kit comes with air filter, airbox, and new set of MAF sensors, a bit over $400.
I haven't looked up the price of each individual parts but I consider those preventive items.
All things considered, ROW kit did not seem like such bad deal vs hacking/cutting existing airbox components.

Get MBH headers and call it a day with the mods.

get some drop in filters rather than the paper stock ones and it will feel better. and if you're going to get headers get american racing and dont forget the most crucial part, eurocharged tune.

That's funny because that is the plan. This car is FAST and I can't imagine I need much more than the MBH headers.

I think this was discussed in another thread regarding row airbox, but anyway, it may be good idea fo check long term fuel trim adaptation after installing row airbox. Some people reported 25%+ LTFT due to unmetered air leaking through airbox. I got scanner tool and checked mine and my LTFT was very high as well. I checked the airbox and I saw gap between seems that would let unmetered air sip through. After I filled the gap, I saw LTFT going down. Mine is still adapting and I am waiting go see low one digit soon.

I'm also considering the ROW air boxes route, but have spent the last hour or so reading posts here both positive and negative. What has your experience been so far after installing them? Thank you

My initial impression was good, not sure about power gain, but knowing that there was no more charcoal filter in the intake was good enough for me.
If you search C63 section of forum here, you will find people discussing ROW and LTFT in great length.
After I got iCarSoft MBII scanner, I realized my car's LTFT was high.
Replaced PCV (literally broke off) and intake gasket following DIY on this forum.
While replacing those, I saw how much oil blowby was deposited in the intake manifold.
Cleaned the intake manifold, got an oil & air separator.
My car's LTFT is still high but the car still drives great.
I think there could be a minor vacuum leak somewhere, thinking of getting a smoke machine or just let an indy look at it.
All in all, I am glad I put ROW because I got to know the car much better and replaced some ready to fail maintenance parts myself.
