Think airmatic relay went out, Can you manually raise the car with 12 volts?
All new airmatic struts recently changed front and rear.
Car wont raise up. Can't hear the airmatic pump. Airmatic malfunction on dash. airmatic pump fuse is good, ordered new airmatic relay from MB. Thinking it could be airmatic relay its the original one from 2005.
Anyone have this issue? I put 12 volts directly to the airmatic pump and it turns on. My question is if I continue to power 12 volts to the pump will it raise up the car? The new relay from mb wont arrive till saturday. So what do you guys think?
Anyone try this? Any help would be appreciated. thanks.
Merry christmas!

It might work. But i would not recommend it. Just swap the relay with another one that works to see if the car will raise. Just mark the airmatic one with some paint and swap it for another location. That way you do not loose track of which one is bad. There are other high amperage ones there. If you have not had the pump replaced it might just be worn out. If the pump is noisey as all get out then it is just not making pressure any more. Normally leaking shocks make these run so much the pump fails. And that relay should be readily available at the dealership. They should not have to order it.

Any other suggestions? I have my old pump that I can swap out. But, the pump does not turn on at all with a new relay. Gonna check the wires going to the pump to make sure its not damaged. I was sure the relay would be it. Because the pump did turn on with 12 volts.

I changed the airmatic pump when I was diagnosing my airmatic leak. So the pump was new and it did run for a week on the leaky struts.

Anyone have this issue before? Waiting on a buddy who may be able to borrow a star on monday. But, in case that falls through, need to know what else to check? Thanks

From experience I really struggled to troubleshoot my airmatic issues without Star, in my case the pump was not putting out enough pressure but sounded like it was functioning normally. But only Star could tell me the the pumps PSI was too low, in the end I put a new piston ring and piston cylinder head on the pump and everything was resolved.

my buddy tried powering the compressor directly when i had issues...the compressor would pump but the car wouldn't raise. Mercedes seems to have a lot of thought into the system with check valves and such.

Do you know how often the pump comes on during normal driving? If you leave it in comfort or raised up and dont lower or raise it at all. Will the pump not come at all? Or does it come on every day during normal driving? Anyone know?
I just put new airmatic struts on front and rear. So hopefully not those.

Ok we tested the airmatic pump with something like a star, was only putting out .04 bar and a big 40 amp fuse under the passenger side footwell blew. So, we think the new cheap pump I bought for 139 bucks got hot and popped the fuse. Swapped my original airmatic pump back into the car to test put in a new fuse. Came out fine, 7.5 bar of pressure. So car is back up and running. Thanks to all that chimed in and tried to help. Cheers guys.

Where is the relay for the airmatic compressor on my 2010 e class cdi estate
Hi, would anybody be able to help me please. My suspension has sagged. I've had the bags tested but no leaks found. I had the block replaced 6 months ago.
today I replaced the compressor but have no power to compressor. It came with a relay but i am struggling to work out where it goes.
all answers from Google say its in different places. Very confusing.
it's a 2010 E220 CDI estate.
Any help would be great.
Thank you
