Its suposed to be 6.1 V8 with 450hp+.... your source is not right

And the rumours are that it's coming late 2005, or early 2006....

That is what I thought, very soon. Soon for me because I get my SLK55 mid 2005. I will probably wait another six month for the new 5.5L V8 engine.

I have read in many english and german language magazines about the upcoming 5.5L V8 and 6.3L V8. Also, there is a lot of information regarding these two new engines in this forum. But no one knows for sure when they will come out; 2005? 2006? 2007? 2008?
