I honestly think its the car an how well the motor is running my 03 with 137k was catless an honestly all.i could smell was a hint of the lil oil it uses not much fuel smell at all. When i added the high flow cats didnt change the smell much lil less. But i have seen that my car tends to go through about 1/2 quart of 5w40 liqui moly per 4000 miles which is pretty good adter all the miles an how hard i drive it. Try switching to a good oil see if that helps i use 5w40 liqui moly with ceratec every 6000 to 7000 miles works great car feels noticably faster smoother and stronger.
