Wanting to buy an e55
I’m in south Florida and was wondering how much would it cost for insurance to own an e55 please don’t hide your payments takes ten seconds to put it on here. I have a C300 08 sport that looks awesome! But I made a lot of money this week so I’m planning on buying a new car and selling my old one

Ok, to answer this question is little hard ,due to many factors will play in hand.
1.age
2. driving record
3.State
4.insurance company
5.how many other cars and if you have a house with them too.

its going to be under my fathers name so he’s 50, clean record with one major total loss, Florida, liberty mutual and we have 4 cars currently so I’m guessing $300 a month

If your dad is 50 and that record,Then it will be cheap.I would say$700 a year max then ,but every state id different. My buddy pays 580 a year full with highest limit's.

just calculated with liberty mutual and saw it’s $250 a month for full coverage, with a “discount of $250” but I noticed we have state farm forgot we moved last month to them

I pay equivalent of US$500 per year for full cover including rental car while repairs are done. But why the concern with insurance, a couple of airmatic struts and pump, fuel tank assembly or even a set of new tires will blow that out of the water. Even just normal maintenance which is usually neglected on a large number of cars for sale is going to cost over $1k unless you DIY.

I'm 39 and pay $233.20 every 6 months for full coverage on just my E63. I have a clean record and 3 vehicles insured with them.
edit: That does seem a bit low though. I'm going to have to call them on Monday and see if they did set up with the coverage I want on it.

I've had a few PM's with OP. Turns out he's 16 so the numbers for us older folks that own houses and have multiple vehicles don't really apply.

Not being a dick here just truth ur life and car experience is almost nil, but at 16 .... dude this is a car that has to be respected .... you can get in all kinds of trouble in the blink of an eye. I had a kid, 18 years old, come into our merc car club an had a nice lil 95 c36 amg, an it was a quick car. He sold it an got an 05 e55 .... 3rd day owning it, thought it would be fun to play on the roads in dyno mode ..... wrapped it round a telephone pole an took out 3 parked cars. He broke his femur an shoulder and got in all kinds of trouble. These cars have so much power down low they demand respect.
Then theres the matter of maintience ... they need to taken care of, an parts while if ur thrifty u can find for a decent price online, are still not cheap. So unless u have money to burn an make good cash id look for something a bit less raw more refined like a lexus is350 or isf but thats just a suggestion.

Also have a good read about repair costs and maintenance. I have a $5k repair fund dedicated to just this car. Airmatic failure, transmission flush at the dealer, transmission rebuild, these things pop up and they aren't simple fixes.

Yep the majority of us, myself included are 30+ have a house or two, family etc. This won't apply to you, as pointed out in the post above, no matter what you are like as an individual, as far as your insurance company is concerned, you are very high risk.

I'd save that money for school and life in general, you have no business with an E55 at 16. It'll suck the life out of you with maintenance costs. Just keep your money, try to make more, and drive your C300, you'll be very thankful for it 10 years down the line.
