Hey everyone! Anyone have any insight on the bottom read out? Indy shop looking to drop the valve body and replace the solenoid and do transmission flush. Said they could not clear the codes. Car is currently in 'limp mode' and will not leave 1st gear. They also said they cannot guarantee that doing this will get it out of limp mode. Ive been searching around the forums and have heard conflicting issues and solutions. So looking to see if anyone else has had similar issues/ codes. Thanks!!
Sounds about right. The valve body and TCU are together in the 722.9 from memory so they usually need to code a new one which costs a lot more than the 722.6. I have a diagram of the valve body at home but those failed locations sound like it. Not sure why they can't guarantee their work.
I know from what he is saying this very well be the culprit. However, he said he wasn't able to clear the codes that showed in the diagnostic. From what I've read everyone says clear the codes and if they return move forward. It could very well be something else or the code could not come back. That's my thing. Is it possible that the codes cannot be cleared if he is using star or another system like xentry? Or should the codes be able to be cleared first regardless?
Many trans codes will come immediately back upon resetting with STAR, if the issue is still present. In the OP's case, it is either the TCU or conductor plate, I'm betting. Myself, given how prone issues with the conductor plate are, might want to zero in on that. To have him RR a solenoid, then go back in, is going to only add up. Get another opinion 1st from a shop that is familiar with the 722.9.
