360 Modena on shoulder of 55 frwy w/fried clutch
A friend of mine owns a car lot and had a 03 Viper traded in on a $148,000K 360 Modena w/F1 trans. He gets call the next day with kid upset on shoulder of 55 frwy with car not engaging in gear. Wanted to unwind deal and was threatening to sue if he didn't.
Friend sent car to OC Ferrari for inspection and new clutch. He had dealer give car a careful study. Bald right tire, rubber on back of both wheel wells. We started to quiz the kid down and come to find out he had a heavy 360 sessions in empty lot with friends. Smoked the clutch tires and brakes in one night. We fixed car and gave him a check for $62,500 which covered the free and clear viper and the 360 modena including $2100 for clutch plus brakes and 2 tires. I added it up he lost $38,000 in 3 days. And he still owns the 360 and viper which were now bought at even better prices then he had thought. They are both for sale still.
Same friend told me today that I can sell my 9,000 mile $81,270 stick and purchase price E55 for $79,000 in a week and $81,000 in a few weeks. Can get $76,000 at auction. I asked him to please sell it now for the $79,000. I am going to test drive a SL600 in the AM.
