Transmission Problems
I have been having some transmission problems on my 06 e55. It all started the other day when i was driving. I was pressing the gas and all of a sudden it just revved instead of moving. I kept pressing the gas and it kept revving. I pulled over and shut it down. A few minutes later it was normal. Then it happened again. A few moments later there was no response from the transmission. The next day it was fine, but the check engine light was on and there was a new whine coming from the transmission, sounds like a dental drill. The car keeps losing power when driving and will even rev when its in drive. I also tried to shift gears but it will not change gears. WHAT IS GOING ON!

And: If you don't know when the fluid was last dumped/filled with a fresh filter, this is probably a good time to do that service. Seems like I've read on these pages where a clogged filter caused exactly the symptoms you describe.

Buy yourself a dipstick from Ebay or somewhere. It is most likely the fluid level being too low. If it is low, check if the cable from the TCU to the transmission (wiring connector) isn't leaking also. It is usually low for a reason. I would change out the filter and gasket if the car is in this state. Very easy to do.

Still waiting on the mechanic.
He said it was the timing chain at first I was like wait WHAT?? Then I explained to him what actually happened (went limp, then wouldn't shift up). Still waiting
