E63 weak key fob diagnosis help
Greetings:
I have a 2007 E63 with a weak key fob transmit problem.
I have done the following:
- new CR2025 batteries in the key fob. The red LED flashes reliably on key press.
- checked #8 7.5A fuse in trunk with a multimeter
The fob works reliably if I hold it near the top of the rear window. It does not work if I'm at the A-pillar or beyond.
If a fob works at the rear window, is the AAM likely okay and it's just a window antenna / sticky interface issue? Or will the fob work at short range even if the AAM is blown?
Thanks - Rocket88
