Sold 04 E55 & ordered 05 E55

Sold 04 E55 & ordered 05 E55
I sold my baby today! But I ordered a new 05 will be here in 30-60 days. Sold the 04 because it made cents. Bought for $81,270 put no money down and my payoff was $79,860 I got $79,900 for car. I put 9300miles on car. Not hard miles unfortunately I ran out of time. Opened mouth about selling and next day sold if I had a day or 2 more would have got my videos shot.
Has any one heard new specs on 1/4 mile miles with the 7 speed? And I am sure the 7 speed with help on the Fwry with the 5 speed it was revving high and was very throttle sensitive. Are there any reviews on the 05 E55 with the 7 speed?

Not sure what you ordered but no 7-speed for the E55 in 05. 
Doubt the E55 will see the 7-Speed before it goes out of production. The next generation AMG W211 will have the 7-speed but not the E55.
With all the tq of the E55 a 7 speed would be of little help. But in my E500 the 7 speed keeps the engine in its power band and it will pull on such sprots cars as 350z's and G35 6-Speeds. Not bad for a car which claims to be 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. I think the E500 is a LOT faster than the factory claims.
My E55 will leave the E500 for dead on the freeway.... even with a 2.65 rear end ratio

draggingcents2 I was told by my dealer that the same tranny on the 04 E55 will be on the 05 E55 were u told that it will have the 7 speed? I hope we get the 7 speed ill keep my fingers crossed

There is no way the 7-speed will be on the E-55. Spoke with Renntech a while back and even they say the new 7-speed will come no where close to handling the Tq of the AMG motor. All amg motors get the present 5-speed which is rated to handle 750+ lbs of tq. They(amg & MB) are very happy with the durability of the present 5 speed. I can't imagine them getting rid of that for something untried on the street. The new 7-speed I'm told is good up to 450 lbs of tq. which matches nicely with non amg w211 platforms. Like you draggingcents I too will probably sell my 04 shortly looking to "special order an '05" If anyone knows someone who is looking, spread the word I'm thinking about selling.

Since it appears there are not Major changes in the 2005 E55 should the 2006 be the W211 Mid-Model Upgrade (face-lift) and have the new 4 valve engine and be the E63?

Well, one thing it won't have....
fpr sure is prepaid maintenance. I know, it's somewhat lame, but come on now, with BMW increasing its maintainance commitment (adding brakes) does MB really need to be taking value away? Amazing.
