Decided on getting a E55

I’ve decided to get a E55. Just gonna buy it cash, its my dream car. Im seeing pulley upgrade kits even as small as 70mm/tune and with that small of pulley they offer injectors. Whats a good amount of increase in power being safe. I know cooling needs to be upgraded first so whats a good cooling mod?. Im not a racer just floor it here and there and i dont beat my cars so this wont be at a track ever. Just want to make sure it makes power reliably and fairly consistant.

Copy the mods in my signature. I wouldn't go smaller than 76mm but I am very impressed with the 83mm.

Shardul is a member on here and a vendor and can get you all of it. The PLM is the best heat exchanger in my opinion.

Sounds like you should just leave it stock?! They make plenty of unusable power bone stock and will be most reliable that way!

Words of wisdom! ^^^^^^^^^

If you want little more either get a tune ,or little more bored get a 84mm and a new 010 pump and be done..

You'll enjoy it.

First make sure it has a new IC pump, get a Bosch 010 or upgrade to a VRP superflo if you got cash to burn. Then get mid-length headers unless you got money to **** away then get long tubes. Then look at pulley + cooling. If your in a hot climate and going less than 83mm you could start with a killer chiller and skip the Heat Exchanger and tank. Otherwise get a HE at least.

Went and saw one today near me. Has 149k miles very good carfax seems to have owned it for several years. Found four issues just cosmetics, rear bumper the clear is slightly hazing the passenger mirror has a haze the molding around the rear side windows the small ones are not good. Its 2005 e55 for $8500 seems like he doesnt drive it much maybe once a week to keep it going. I have to go back for a test drive he was acting like he was too busy to spend with me showing the car so all i can do is just look at it today, sucked if you ask me. Its black so not my first choice of color prefer white, silver, grey and then black in that order. Im aware there different colors as well. So overall without driving it seems cosmetically a 7/10 interior from what i can gather looked 8/10. I think with a good detail of rear bumper and passenger side mirror it will help alot.

Wether you modify it or not, definitely go through and take care of all maintenance items ahead of time. It’ll only make your life easier when you start adding more power. Personally, I’d say 83 or 77mm pulley, heat exchanger and a set of headers. That will give you plenty of reliable power for right about the $2k mark. From there you can continue with cooling mods if necessary.

These cars respond great to a few power mods and have no problem running them reliably Check out our Power Packages and they will give you a good idea of where to start your modding journey.
