Dyno tuning and the Ice tank!

For all you guy's out there with ice tanks... either Under hood or trunk tank..... are you guys dyno tuning with the ice in the tanks or no ice in them and just water?

some people say tune with ice and some say no ice.. some tuners recommend ice.. and some say no ice..

-which is best and why?
-what are your experience with this whole ice or no ice tuning ordeal?
-why would you dyno tune with ice/ or without

thanks in advance guys.. let's hear those inputs!

A tune is permanent. Ice is not. Don't mix the two and you'll be fine.

I disagree. When updating tune from dyno sheets jerry asked me to use 3rd gear since it creates less heat and stops the ecu from dumping fuel and timing due to high iats. If u tune with ice the car will react normally to higher iats from hot days and less cooling so you shouldnt br in danger there ..

come to think of it, I think it would be best as when its cold and your iats are lower you would be safer from leaning out.

but im no tuner or expert so jusy consider the logic and make ur own choice!

that's a good way to put it.. jerry told me no ice for custom tune and dump the ice in for hero numbers after the tune is finalized

Tune with ice in the tank. When the ice melts and IATs get high ECU will retard timing and add fuel. It would be stupid to try to tune with your ecu in conditions that are causing it to kill power for protection.
