Can you drive an e55 amg with a drivers side front shock out?
It might seem like a funny question but Im potentially looking to buy one 300 miles away. Is that too risky? ...should I just get it towed? Thanks

Listen.....If the drivers side front strut is collapse. You can not drive the car like that for 300 miles. If you do, it will end badly.
Your steering and braking will be compromised, not to mention that the car will be leaning over on that side. Also you risk doing more damage.
Get a flat bed truck to load it and have it delivered to a shop for repairs.

I used a transportation company from Sacramento to Los Angeles and cost me 445.00. Its honestly not much to get a transportation service and your not risking finding out on the way home that car might have other issues that might surface other then a blown shock and then you would have more then one problem stuck on the side of the road. Piece of mind get a transportation service. I test drove mine when I drove up to Sacramento and it drove just perfect and still didn't drive it down because on a car you don't know you have no idea what will happen.
