Knocking sound coming from left side undercarriage over small bumps - HELP!
Quick summary: 2 months ago, I bought a 266,000km E55 W211 sight unseen. I did the whole nine yard on it during the past two months, spent a good 5K in parts and mostly did the repairs myself, appart from some things that required a lift. Car now has a set of headers, VRP pulley and tune, new plugs, new OEM brakes on all 4 corners, new set of ball joints (vertical and horizontal), new engine and transmission mounts, and a lot of other misc parts...
The car drives great now. But while going over small bumps on the road, there's still a knocking sound and it's pretty loud. My mechanic looked at all the suspension components as well as the steering column to try to diagnose the problem and couldn't find anything loose or worth replacing. Again, there is no sound from the right side, the knock comes from the driver side of the car while going over a manhole cover for exemple.
From you experience, anything I should look for or anything that is usually hard to tell when it's on it's way out?
Thanks
