Modified E55 (82mm TB, etc) bogging after shifts (1-2 and 2-3)

I'm also in the que for 2 of these, literally cannot wait as the shift bog is REALLY upsetting me and I've tried all sorts to fix it and so far nothing.

Finally got mine in last night, took a decent (40ish) mile drive today. First of all, YES, it does eliminate the pull back in power after a shift. It's awesome, that has always bothered me. 'Speedshift' my a** haha. It feels like I installed a modified valve body. It felt slightly too harsh at first in comfort mode, but that was leaving my house and the car was dead cold, and the firmness was more surprising than anything, more than I expected. After pulling off I switched to Sport pretty fast and haven't tried comfort again. I'll report again in a few days as I didn't really get a chance to test it beyond moderate throttle as it's pissing rain here and, well, that can be very limiting when running this much HP and a fixed pulley.
The thing is though - this tune really is brilliant, because the biggest bog-downs I experienced were at mid throttle shifts and they are WAY firmer and more definitive. I think I need to give it some time to adapt, it seemed a little hesitant to downshift a time or two in Sport and I had to back off the throttle and reapply more quickly to get it to bump down. This is also how it was on my old TCU though and it eventually seemed to adapt so I expect this will do the same, especially if I can give it some more spirited driving. I didn't really try A mode much due to the weather, but the few blips I did that seemed nice and aggressive compared to Sport.
Side note - I still feel that I might have to have Tony at RaceIQ adjust my tune as my bypass valve seems to delay closing at times w/ the fixed pulley, and this can contribute to perceived power issues shortly after a shift, so any occasions of things not seeming smooth may be due to that as well.
More to come soon! Y'all will love yours

Gin it will definetly adapt a little more so just DRIVE IT but not like you stole it LOL
It will have for sure a more positive shift in sport and comfort but will tame down over time and should shift almost stock with VERY light throttle as mine has.
I might actually have to tame down the 1-2 shift just a tad in M mode as it will move me in my seat and make the compressor kick on right at the shift and thats really a bump for sure with two things going on at the very same time.
But it sure is fun to drive isn't it !!!!!

Always warm the box before use....
Seriously though there isn't really anything to worry about just throw in the tcu and drive gently until the entire car warms up. Then introduce it to shifts at progressively more throttle while it adapts to the state of your transmission! This is probably not necessary but if you wanna be careful you can do it.
Only sport and C modes adapt so no need to worry about A or M modes.
I suppose it is worth mentioning that removing torque limits may cause premature wear in transmission but i believe most of us are happy to deal with premature wear on our cars as we already modifying them!

Got mine in and it performs very well. No more lag or bog at part throttle, shifts are crisp but not annoying, always seems to be right where I want it when I give it throttle. Very smooth now and with the fixed pulley it is a blast to drive!
I will say that A mode is too much fun! Like lose your license type fun for sure!
Thank you again zerocat101 for the quick shipping, communication, and the TCU!

Got mine, feeling great on the shifts for sure. Haven't tested a standing burnout yet (most of the reason I wanted it). A couple times it's downshifted weird/late when coming to a stop but only about 30 miles on it. Hopefully a good bit of driving/learning with get it all acting nice.

Great stuff, thanks for the feedback guys. Would be interesting to see same car stock tcu dragy times, then the zerocat tune and test again to see the results 😁

I am very interested in this TCU. Is there anywhere other than this thread to find out more specifics? If emailing Zerocat is the only way to do it, then that works for me, but I figured there may be a website or page with more details laid out with pricing/how to purchase/core/etc.

Nah just email him dude. Pricing is competitive, core is super cheap charge and its probably the most aggressive tcu tune u can get on the market by the sound of it!

My tuning of this tcu is done with the Help of a etas es910 with Simulink and source code and extensive knowledge of drivetrain and computer control software. This way of tuning might be more complicated but you get better results with tcu calibrations and see real-time data at a different level. There have been some haters lately that do not want new tcu products on market and will troll threads and talk ****. Just like VRP makes new products and the haters hit his posts with a vengeance.. Why I keep sales private and prices private for now.. ... Also rebuilt transmissions and different types of ATF can cause different outcomes with any TCU tune due to clutch material differences, Atf type that is not for Nag1. Badly rebuilt etc. Tcu tune cannot fix a worn-out slipping transmission as some have asked me... I think AutoZone will sell you a bottle of liquid clutches.

I said that to him weeks ago just so know one would bust his chops thats a east coast term btw. This may not be for everyone its just when you hit a certain level of mods or in my case changing a converter or expect a certain feel or a complete shift this is a must and makes a world of difference. if you look at my best time from few weeks ago to a 2019 time slip 60ft close but before this tcu if the car hooked it would hang on shift not even rev up past 4500 rpm in 1st then hang on 1-2. look at the slip with minus 1000 da not the same sixty foot as pb, due to shifting. that single time slip was on the day of -1000 da see how when the sixty foot dropped it went slower. It would of taken me pullies and all kinds of stuff to make up the difference of the tcu tune do to my converter and gear change. instead this man by dumb luck that i came across said this would work.

It's really, really good. I've now had a few days for it to adapt and it's cleared up and feels more 'right' with how it's behaving. 'A' mode was a bit manic at first but I've learned you shouldn't try and drive it casually, that's what C is for, so once you decide you want to scrub some rubber it just puts a big smile on your face.
Finally got a chance to hit kickdown and get a WOT shift 2-3 and it feels Soooooo much better, no hesitation or power dip whatsoever.
And someone mentioned earlier in the thread about possible increased wear, but it was pointed out to me and I forgot that slippage is what tends to wear out transmissions, so positive gear changes with appropriate line pressures etc are good things and not harmful. At least that's what I told my wife

I don't believe it. This is all photo shopped !!
You know I'm kidding Tim and figured I might as well say it before someone else will. LOL !!
