W211 E63 Air strut problem

I have a 2007 e63 and the front right air strut failed. Meaning it’s slammed on the front right only. So I just sold my M3, my M5 and my CTS-V and therefore I only have this E63 to drive.

The car leans bad to the right due to the failed suspension, but the rear left is like 3 inches above the tire and looks stupid as heck. So I unplugged all airmatic components (fuses, relay, and front strut connections) in hope of just lowering the front or maybe even the entire vehicle.

So, what needs answered is, how do I get my car to lose air in all the struts so the car immediately lowers itself? I would like it to be nearly slammed for a bit before I replace all the air bags. It’s almost like the car is stuck up in the air on the rear left!

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers, Max

Not recommended

This can be done by simply jacking up the car, disconnecting the air line and open/closing the door repeatedly.

Doing this however will likely result in the damaging of the air spring, also note there is a minimum height below which the front tires no longer clear the fender.

When purchasing your replacement strut ensure you order the amg strut as the damping and spring rate are significantly different (you could also change both fronts and the rear struts to non amg).

Yes I understand it’s not good but explain how this works ? I have read this before but don’t understand how it works? Air pump of soft close doors releases or what?

Not air on the doors (and no soft close for the w211), the car goes through a leveling cycle when you open the door. If a wheel is jacked up (too high) pressure will be released but there is a maximum amount of release per cycle, hence you would need to do this several times.
After thinking about it again, for what you want to do (which is again not recommended for anyone), do not disconnect the line but rather pull the relay for the compressor.

I see. That’s kinda what I thought after I sent that last response. And that’s what funny, I unplugged all the relays and fuses and the car hast dropped. No matter how great the air bags are you would think it would still drop a little.

Help me understand - you have a failed RF air strut and instead of getting this fixed, you want to lower all corners to the height of the failed RF and drive it? Is there not a risk of damaging the remaining struts, air pump or tire/body contact that could damage tires or body?

No I want to make the Rear left side go down a few Inches so I can bandaid it for a few days while I wait for my new air strut to get here. Like I said, I sold my M5, M3 and CTSV to get a newer vehicle and this happened when I had only ONE vehicle. I don’t have a choice.

Ok, got it. Sorry for the confusion on my part! Please post if the work around helped. Lowering the opposite corner could help avoid damage if it happens to someone and the car has to be driven.

Rear height is controlled in tandem, you can't lower just one side.
Again note that the front tire will damage the fender if minimum height is exceeded and steering wheel is turned.

Thanks for not being and a$$ and assuming I don’t know the damage done!! Lol.... I will keep updates coming. I really know Mercedes but the air system has me stumped on why it doesn’t “deflate”... I hope I can confirm that having the car jacked up and opening the door deflates it! This is truly a bandaid and I have struts coming but it’s been awhile. So I need to try to do what I can do. UGH... this seems childish to do but sometimes you don’t have a choice :/
