update:
drove the car one time since the last update and before today...both times engine felt great...still seems to be requiring less throttle to get going, engine feels way more powerful, engine is idling smoother than it ever has, and MPG savings still present. only driving the car once or twice a week as I have a 2 wheeled beast I flog around that gets 42-46 mpg.

i do have to locate ROW boxes or factory unmodified boxes though...my idle at times is wonky and my monitor is showing that the engine is leaning out. this has been an issue ever since i did the DIY "row" mod to my boxes. never again.

I'm about to do a second flush this weekend and then I'll do 0w40 M1 with 2 cans of MoS2 (currently running 5 40 Molygen), I'm excited. Have done ceratec twice now since I got it 20k miles ago, and one treatment of XADO. With each additive I've thrown down the hatch the car has been better... I just don't understand it.

Before every oil change I've been throwing 100ml of KREEN in my oil, drive it for another 100 miles and change. During the kreen session the car feels more responsive I swear... I can't help but think that these engines get clogged up even if you change every 3k with all the fuel that goes through it.

don't doubt it...although we don't have F1 engines, those have tolerances so tight they need to warm and cycle up the oil before first start up. can't imagine what would occur to an F1 engine if it gummed up.

whats the reasoning to go with M1?

let us know if you do plan to do a second engine flush...wondering if you'll see benefit as you did this 20k ago...

that XADO stuff is expensive!

Hi,
Steven here from Germany.
You can use Cera Tec for the superchager as well. I got an email from a german tech who works for Liquy Moly. He advised 6.5-8% Cera Tec for the supercharger "treatment" as well.

If you have emailed Liqui Moly directly, their engineers should be the best source for this information. It would sound like he's stating to add 6.5-8% of overall supercharger oil which seems adequate. I'm guessing the oil would exist in this portion of the supercharger? Honestly if you were to ask me I think Liqui Moly MoS2 would be better here, but at this point you're looking to improve probably less than 0.5% of efficiency of the engine with this if I were to take a guess. What is generally more important is the design and efficiency of the rotors and housing. For example Eaton for their pre TVS superchargers, they've gone through 5 generations of improvements.

Yes that`s the recommendation from from LM.

The bearings and gears are spinning like hell. Its a battel of materiel. Bearings/gears spinning up to 35.000 rpm on a twinscrew supercharger! I am pretty sure this ceramic stuff helps a lot to prevent friction.. And while MOS2 is cooking, Ceramic particels don`t burn up to 1000°C.

The purpose of each is a little different...from what I recall, Cera Tec bonds to metal and fills in micropores to allow the oil to do its job. MoS2 is a suspension additive that cushions and aids in wear as an additional barrier between metal surfaces.

I could be wrong...if so please correct me.

The test of Liqui Moly Ceratec was a success in that the kids good some wrenching experience after two tear downs and one assembly and we know the Ceratec does lay down a smooth glassy looking coat in places of imperfections on inspecting the cylinder and cam on tear down.

latest update...faint, super hard to hear soft tapping has not appeared since those 1-2 instances. results are still the same. mpg improvement and only need a crack of the throttle to drive. if anything changes will report back.

cam adjuster noise has returned... noise appears after initial start up randomly...not always but has happened. goes away after short drive though. shame, but oh well. definitely helped and was great while it lasted.

thanks for this info. I ordered the flush/ceratec kit from FCPeuro and will do it with my oil change in the next month or so. I have a constant ticking that I hope the oil flush and change will help with.

I used Ceratec about 10000 miles ago and the engine became noticeably quieter in my E63. If I remember correctly, it said that you should use it every 30K miles on the bottle. I've been changing oil every 4k miles. Using Motul X-cess 5w40.I switched to Motul from Mobil 0w40 and came to realize that Mobil is a crap comparing to Motul regardless of what Mercedes recommends.

Hachiroku I just finished the same LM engine flush / Ceratec procedure as you (except I used M1 0w40). Disappointing to hear about your long-term results. I had read lots about the LM PL Engine Flush turning the oil dark black, however mine came out pretty clean (maybe my engine didn't have much build-up at 63k miles?). The car certainly drives smoother for the time being, and no lifter tick though I didn't have much before either. My results are a little skewed, however, because I changed by sparkplugs at the same time.

ya...our engines run real clean...mine came out in a nice caramel color. most people who proceed with the LiquiMoly Flush do report very black oil coming out...that is the flush doing its magic and pulling out some pretty nasty stuff.

as far as the engine flush and treatment...i still stand by it...its just with 130k miles i'm sure my cam adjusters are just real worn. will i change them for new ones? who knows...engine runs great...and the adjuster noise isn't always there...
