Traded in my '02 E55 today...
Title says it all. I traded in the '02 E55 today for an '04 M3. Totally different cars obviously, and the M3 is really just a temporary car until I can find a W211 E55 to my liking. I was really racking up the miles on the E55 so I decided to get rid of it before I really lost my shirt on it. Was an incredible car, and will never be forgotten.
I will definitely still be around here, and am still very actively searching for a W211 E55.
Here's a picture of the M3 with my girlfriend standing in front of it.
Regards,
-m

Nice M3, congratulations! Was it brand new? Good luck with the hunt for the W211 E55!

Again congrats! Have you had the chance to let loose on the M3? Big difference in torque huh? And what's the story on the yellow 996TT on the back there? How much is it, what year and how many miles?

Yes, it is Steel Grey. I don't have any more pictures yet, but no worries, I will soon enough.
W210
It was a tradein, guy who owned it before bought a GT3 from this dealership. 6 months old.

Yes, I let loose all day today. Definitely a difference in torque, but the added revs and gearing definitely make up for the lack of torque up top. I'm very pleased with it's power... it pulls very smooth all the way to redline and the handling is tremendous... without doubt this car lives up to it's reputation in that department.
The dealership I buy my cars from probably has a dozen 911 Turbos there... that yellow one looked to have HREs on it but aside from that I didn't ask about it. PM me privately if you want additional information.

Thanks for the offer, but I am not interesting in a Silver E55

Last I checked Ray Catena Mercedes' website they have 3 04 E55 sitting around...give that a look if you want..
Nice color M3 btw.... I went to Ray Catena today to see the swatch of the new Flint Gray, and its closer to steel gray now. Left my order in as Flint Gray.

hi marcus,
congratulations on the new M3.
i test drove one with the smg transmission on friday.
i was hoping it was going to be more like an automatic
but it was very awkward.
i'm going to test drive a 6 speed this week hopefully
that will run smoother. what options did you get and
how much under sticker did you pay?

I'm waiting for the dealership I bought my '02 E55 and '04 M3 to find an E55... I always get the best deals from them and I have the buyer looking for a 55 for me... it's only a matter of time.
S55inPA
I didn't even bother with the SMG after hearing multiple complaints about it. I know it's faster and on the track it'll run faster than a standard 6-speed, but I'm not really interested in that. With the 6 I can shift as slow or as fast as I want, slip as much as I want, etc.
The car was owned for 6 months by one of the dealership's customers, who traded it in on a Porsche GT3 (I saw the tradein docs) and I got $6k off MSRP w/ 4k miles. Pretty good deal, IMO.

Congrats Marcus Frost I drove the M3 several times such an enjoyable car however the M3 CSL just plows the M3 away, Its sad that they aren't allowed in the US nevertheless, u made a great choice as well as a good buy good luck with ur search for the E55

Nice car to while your time away before the E55! Had one for a year with SMG, its a nice overall package, but for me, the E55 is just a better fit; 4 doors, power, way better interior, more luxurious. But the M3 is a great car, congrats.

Congrats on the great new ride, I'd like to have a 2-door or 2-seater myself. I have to have 4-doors since my wife gets the "sports" car allotment. If you gotta have a sedan (airport shuttle, old folk transporter, funiture/plant hauler, etc.) an E55 is the way to go.

Well, let's not forget how much the CSL costs as well... there are plenty of cars out there than can beat the M3...

Agreed... I'm already starting to remember what a PITA it is to have a coupe when you regularly take out people in the back seat!! No worries though, I have not given up on the new 55 and it's only a matter of time until I find one.

Hahaha... let me see what I can dig up... my g/f is kind of shy about that (which is a good thing, I suppose...)

Congrats on the M3, I have one too plus an E55. I also had a W210 E55. I think the M3 and the E55 are perfect compliments to each other. One is a super high reving handler and the other is a low end torque monster. I love driving my M3, it may not be the fastest out there but it looks great. And after a few days in the 3, the E55 is just perfect in relief. Of course I would rather have the W211 E55- but its nice to have both.
I may be mistaken but your car is a 2004 and steel gray was discontinued in 2003 circa April. I know this because I have a 2003 steel gray. Based on your pics I think yours is silver gray which is awesome.
