Wanting to get into a W211 E55....and have a few questions
Ok I have a few questions about the E55. First off I have been a member for a while usually just reading this board and posting a few times on the S55 and off topic board. So here it is
Thinking of trading in my S8 for an E55k. Probably looking for a good used 03 or a new one if i can get some kind of deal as teh 04's are coming in. Questions
03's
Does it have a suede roof like the S600 or the last gen M5? My fathers S55 has a cloth roof that looks quite poor for a car that costs north of 100k.
What color is the roof as well, My fathers S55 is black but the roof and all plastic, ie hand grips, rear mirror are grey. Was looking at getting a sliver/black E55 and wondering if the entire interior would be black including the roof lining.

I hear that the E55 is getting a power boost to match the new M5 is this going to be anytime soon? 04? 05?
Also MB now has 7speed box is this going into the E55? 04? 05?

Headliner is "suede" and is grey.
No changes for 04, except for active headlights and spare tire is now included. Both are late additions.
No 7 speed for 05.
No power increase for 05.
How do I know, I've already seen the 05 order guides.

The roof & pillars are made out of suede and the color is light grey.
04
The early 05's will have the same boost, what I hear is that late in 05 it will be E60 normally aspirated, also the transmision will remain a 5 speed. I may be wrong so anybody with more knowledge please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
