Secondary Oil Cooler Threads Stripped But?

I am replacing my Secondary Oil Cooler hoses because they are leaking. I have the new hose but when removing the old one the threads stripped in the lower 4 threads (typical of them all). I still have the upper 4 threads that seem to grab tight when I screw the new hose on. How tight does it need to be? I have never done this before. Are the 4 top threads enough to hold the hose on tight and not leak? It is a pressure fitting, do the lower threads need to be there to stop an oil leak? I can’t afford a new oil cooler, what should I do? I would be interested if somebody in Southern California has one in good shape.

If that is possible, what will I lose or gain? What is the purpose of this cooler? I don’t want to over heat. Any good threads on it?

AMG engines runs hotter then your typical Mercedes Benz engines, as it produces more horsepower and torque.
The oil cooler cools the engine oil, once it reaches a certain temperature threshold.
Trust me, your car needs it, or Mercedes-AMG wouldn't have installed it on your car.

You could either have the secondary oil cooler replaced, or have a new fitting installed or re-threaded.

Thats exactly what I did. I cut off the old stripped threads and installed a brass m22x1.5 male-male fitting. The walls of the oil cooler were not to thick so I braze welded around the threads with Blue Devil rods after tapping, to make sure they would not leak. The repair is very solid and hopefully it will not leak. I made sure I got the aluminum braze hot enough to flow into the thread grooves. This method is stronger then JB weld and about 60% or more as strong as tig welding.
