E55 Wagon Vs Mclaren P1
Hello
I think this is my first post in the W211 AMG forum, but been reading here for quite a bit.
I have a 2005 E55 wagon with Eurocharged Performance mods:
-Headers
-Crank pulley
-Supercharger pulley
-ECU & TCU tune
-Upgraded cooler
Had a nice roll race in Yas Marina Circuit this weekend.
The wagon did not disappoint. More weight played a role in getting traction.
The two cars drive together and cross the line below 60kph, then accelerate all the way to the end.
enjoy

wow, I have basically the same wagon with almost the same mods, except my crank pulley is still stock.
such a fun car, really blows people away because they don't expect it to be quick. I crush people who never saw it coming, but recently finally got my *** handed to me by a blown coyote mustang with drags on the back and skinnies on the front

This is awesome, especially the race against the P1! No doubt if there was more space that Mclaren wouldve been long gone it’s an engineering masterpiece, but who cares in the end...beautiful wagon awesome races.

that's so awesome!! how much faster do the mods make it? is it like, not bad not bad... or WOW this thing is crazy now! i'm stock and it's already so damn quick i don't know if i even want to bother. removing the speed limiter is honestly one of the bigger reasons i want to in the first place lol...

after the mods it is just WOOOOOW.
especially when you floor it and feel the immediate surge of power.
i had two E63s which I sold now. A tuned 2014 E63 (non S) and a 2017 E63S 4matic+. The power output of the E55 is more immediate and raw. W213 requires launch control to fly but the lag compared to the Komressor makes all the difference.
Another aspect is the better cooling with the intercooler and new pump. Oh, and let me say that I enjoy most the look of others when I race them....the sleeper aspect is the best

i ask because i know the E55 stock is capable of running 11s, but to go 10s it seems you need A LOT of stuff done. whatever the case i think mr. robert feiler did a great job assembling the engine i have because it seriously hauls. car and driver magazine listed the 0-150 mph time as 23 seconds for when it was new, and i've gotten 21 seconds with not even the best of starts. if i go ahead and do any mods i just don't want to feel like i wasted my time. i'd probably just do an 83mm pulley since i don't yet want to bother going crazy with the cooling mods. it's also not that hot most of the year, and i never go racing around a track or anything.

my dad has a 2014 E63 S now and i agree the E55 feels more hot roddy and like a muscle car with the immediate power and more engine sound. the newer cars have a loud exhaust which is cool and all and makes for a nice cold start, but the E55 just has such an awesome sounding loud ENGINE and it really sounds like there's a hell of an event going on just in front of you. especially with the windows down you can really hear it off surrounding walls and stuff. oh and plus the supercharger!

lovely noise 😍
I think that the E55s were overengineered and I love this about them.
i just want the supercharger whine to be LOUD to scare adversaries 😂
Agree 100% regarding the exhaust noise. New cars have a lovely cold start noise. My wagon has Akrapovic mufflers from a C63.
