E55 Hard Cold Start

New to me 2006 e55. Been pretty cold the past couple mornings (20F). And when i go to start the car to turn over, it sputters and chokes until after 5 or so seconds of cranking, it roars to life and runs fine. I dont know much about these cars yet but seems to me like a fuel pressure issue. I may try priming the fuel pump a few times next cold start before i crank it over and see if that helps. Any ideas where to look?

Thanks

do you know if the fuel tank was replaced along with the other components? If not, could just be gummed up due to age and the cold weather makes it act out.

Id dump a bottle (or half) of seafoam in the tank to do some cleaning, I’ve experienced positive results.

Have you tried swapping the battery to see if that helps? Sometimes it is the simplest things.

Its a new battery (non AGM but that shouldnt matter). It cranks over fast and strong. Just seems to sputter to life like its not getting enough fuel.
