Camshaft Heads Up

I just wanted to give everyone out there a heads up regarding the camshafts on these cars. I have seen multiple cars come in to my shop that have had the head bolts/lifters replaced, but the shops that have done the work did not inspect the camshafts. My clients have told me they were not informed they needed camshaft replacement by the previous repair facility when there is obvious and sometimes severe wear of the lobes. I have also seen shops not set the backlash on the adjusters.

Everyone should triple check that their shop has a competent Mercedes Benz tech working on their car. It would be a good idea to ask for pictures as well. I know it is already a known issue, but wanted to share my recent experience with you guys.

Where are you located? Asking because looking for reputable shop in north east.

I'm in Seattle. Do some research on here and I'm sure you will find someone good.
